WebCriminal allows its users to log into the site and get access to the information on criminal cases with future appearances dates for selected New York State Courts of criminal jurisdiction. Both the registered members and non-registered users with or without account in WebCriminal can access the site and check the available summon information over the web 24/7.
How to Log In WebCriminal AccountOnline
The authorized attorneys and their employees and representatives who are registered for WebCriminal Account can complete the following steps to log in to their account in the site and use the system to access the case details.
- Visit the Web Criminal Login Page at www.iapps.courts.state.ny.us/webcrim_attorney/Login
- Type the username and password in their respective fields provided on the ‘Login’ box under ‘Registered Users’.
- Click the “Log In” button to enter your WebCriminal Online Account.
How to Recover WebCriminal Account Login Information Online
The registered users who have not remembered their WebCriminal Online Account login credentials will be required to click the “Forgot your user name or password?” link below the password field in the Login section and provide some of your contact information such as
- First Name
- Last Name
- Email Address
- Daytime Phone Number
Then enter your WebCriminal Account Username if you know and click the “Submit” button. If your provided information match with the data in the Web Criminal system, your login details will be sent to the email address used at the time of your WebCriminal registration.
How to Create a WebCriminalAccount Online
If you are an attorney or their authorized employee and representative are not registered with WebCriminal, you can request for an account and apply for it online. To sign up for a WebCriminalAccount, you will need to
- Go to the Web Criminal Login Portal, www.iapps.courts.state.ny.us/webcrim_attorney/Login
- Click on the “Request Account” button, the last option of the Web Criminal Login window.
- Entering the ‘Request Account’ page, click on the underlined “Access Application for Attorneys” link found in the last line of the first paragraph of the written text.
You will be directed to the ‘New York State Unified Court System WebCriminal Access Application For Attorneys’ webpage. Read the instructions carefully before submitting the request of a WebCriminal User ID. Then fill out the online application form with all the requested information as mentioned below.
- First Name
- Middle Initials (optional)
- Last Name
- Work Address
- City
- State
- Zip
- Phone Number
- Email Address
- First 5 digits of your Social Security Number
- NYS Attorney Registration Number
- Co-signer’s NYS Attorney Registration Number
The attorneys not admitted to the New York State Bar need to provide the address, city, state, zip, and telephone number of their state’sAttorney Registration Department to complete the verification.
You will receive an email notification when you are assigned a WebCriminalAccount Username and Password.
Now you can log in as registered users and access pending cases within Web Criminal. You also may view a limited amount of additional information, specifically Defendant Characteristics i.e. status, height, weight, hair color, eye color, and ethnicity, blood alcohol content and vehicle information and additional arresting officer information if applicable and available as well.
How to Search Cases in a WebCriminal
If you do not like to be registered, you can log into WebCriminal as a public user and view the information based on your search. Three search options are available inWebCriminal- Case Identifier, Defendant and Court Calendar.
To access it, you can go to WebCriminal Login Page and click the “Log In as Public User” button under the ‘Not a Registered User’ section and select a search option based on your case information availability. Or, you can choose your preferred option below the ‘Case Search’ at the upper left-hand side of every WebCriminal webpage. Here are the short descriptions of each type of search.
Case Identifier Search
For this search, you will need to enter either a case number or a summon number. Then you may narrow the result by selecting a court or county from the list or you can search all available courts.

DefendantSearch
To begin the defendant search, you must enter at least the first two characters of the first and last name or the first five characters of the corporation name. After that, you can either search all available courts or select a particular court.
Court calendar search
For court calendar search, first, you need to select a court from the given list. In the second step, you have to enter a Start Date and an End Date. Keep in mind, a start date can be no earlier than today’s date. Then select one or more court part and a Supreme or County Court’s judge name, at least two characters.
In the last of all search option, you need to select an output format for the results to be displayed.
